The register

Editorial policy

Primary sources first

Every entry in the register is written from the primary sources: the text of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 as amended and consolidated, its implementing and delegated acts, and European Commission guidance and implementation resources. Trade press, vendor material and commentary are not used as authority for what the law requires. Where a point turns on a specific provision, the entry names the provision so a reader can check it directly. The source list for the whole site is kept on the sources page.

Review dates and triggers

Each guide carries the date it was last reviewed and a legal status panel recording its jurisdiction, the provisions it relies on, the application dates that affect it and the events that should trigger an earlier review, such as an amendment to the articles it covers or new Commission guidance. A review checks the entry against the current consolidated text and guidance. Review is a check of what the entry says against the sources, not a fresh determination about any reader's situation.

Knowledgeable, not a substitute for advice

The register explains the Regulation in the terms the Regulation itself uses, and attributes its claims to the provisions and official guidance they rest on. It does not present itself as a law firm, a consultancy or a competent authority, and it does not advise individual operators on their own arrangements. Where the law leaves a judgement open, the entry says so and identifies whose judgement it is.

Independence

EUDR.help is an independent publication. It has no affiliation with the European Union, the European Commission, a competent authority or a certification body, and it sells no compliance service, software or certification. Entries are not sponsored, and no supplier can pay to be described favourably. The credit in the footer records who built the site template; it is not an endorsement of any product.

Examples and illustrations

Examples in the guides are constructed to show how a rule operates; they are not accounts of real businesses or real enforcement cases, and no example establishes that a real product complies. The landscape image is generated and illustrative, and the plot diagrams are original schematics rather than real geolocation data.

Corrections

When an entry is found to be wrong in a way that matters, it is corrected under the process on the corrections page, and material corrections are entered in the corrections log. Correcting the record openly is part of how an informational publication maintains trust; the log is kept so readers do not have to take that on faith.
